  2.  * Laws concerning the priests.
  3.  
  4.  - As these priests were types of Christ, so all ministers must
  5.  be followers of him, that their example may teach others to
  6.  imitate the Saviour. Without blemish, and separate from sinners,
  7.  He executed his priestly office on earth. What manner of persons
  8.  then should his ministers be! But all are, if Christians,
  9.  spiritual priests; the minister especially is called to set a
  10.  good example, that the people may follow it. Our bodily
  11.  infirmities, blessed be God, cannot now shut us out from his
  12.  service, from these privileges, or from his heavenly glory. Many
  13.  a healthful, beautiful soul is lodged in a feeble, deformed
  14.  body. And those who may not be suited for the work of the
  15.  ministry, may serve God with comfort in other duties in his
  16.  church.

  18.  * Laws concerning the priests and sacrifices.
  19.  
  20.  - In this chapter we have divers laws concerning the priests and
  21.  sacrifices, all for preserving the honour of the sanctuary. Let
  22.  us recollect with gratitude that our great High Priest cannot be
  23.  hindered by any thing from the discharge of his office. Let us
  24.  also remember, that the Lord requires us to reverence his name,
  25.  his truths, his ordinances, and commandments. Let us beware of
  26.  hypocrisy, and examine ourselves concerning our sinful
  27.  defilements, seeking to be purified from them in the blood of
  28.  Christ, and by his sanctifying Spirit. Whoever attempts to
  29.  expiate his own sin, or draws near in the pride of
  30.  self-righteousness, puts as great an affront on Christ, as he
  31.  who comes to the Lord's table from the gratification of sinful
  32.  lusts. Nor can the minister who loves the souls of the people,
  33.  suffer them to continue in this dangerous delusion. He must call
  34.  upon them, not only to repent of their sins, and forsake them;
  35.  but to put their whole trust in the atonement of Christ, by
  36.  faith in his name, for pardon and acceptance with God; thus only
  37.  will the Lord make them holy, as his own people.
